Change one thing. Rerun the market. See what happens.

Dispatch, load and power flow modelling on one model of the NEM, connected to commercial outcomes and tested against history.

Illustrative numbers

Power flow, dispatch and commercial modelling, in one workflow.

Separate models for power flows, market dispatch and commercial performance, integrated to help investigate how changes to the power system affect market outcomes and project value.

  • Dispatch

Rerun market dispatch at five minute resolution to investigate how demand, generator availability, bids and network constraints shape dispatch and regional prices. Examine constraint binding, unit level dispatch and battery behaviour under historical conditions or alternative scenarios.

  • Power flow

Calculate flows and loading across the connected transmission system, every line and transformer, including those without a published AEMO flow or rating. Allocate demand across substations and assess flows against thermal ratings to find the lines and transformers that are loading up.

    Beta

  • Commercial

Translate market and operational assumptions into project level financial outcomes. Model revenue, operating and capital costs, PPA structures, financing and project returns, including NPV, IRR, payback and debt coverage. Compare scenarios to understand the commercial implications of changing market conditions.

Three steps, on the real market.

Power system and market modelling tools.

Dispatch and power flow models of the NEM, run in the cloud with the market and the network already built in. They work alongside PSS/E and PLEXOS, not instead of them. Screen projects before the connection studies start, and once a project is operational, test what network changes or an expansion would do to it.

Dispatch

The NEM's five minute dispatch, rerun from AEMO's demand and constraint equations.

Change one thing, such as adding a battery or retiring a unit, and see what it does to prices, dispatch, curtailment and revenue, down to the constraint that bound.

Power flowBeta

A power flow (or load flow) across the transmission network, with every line, transformer and yard as it stood on the day.

Much of it has no published flow. The model gives every line and transformer a flow, so you see what is loading up early enough to change the plan, and it is being built to give Dispatch limits where none exist yet.
